A Road To Success

Hi. I believe not to long ago i posted something about graphene, the thing that will make all of our computer today useless. If you already forgotten or didn't read it, you can read it here. I got to tell ya, you have to know what graphene is first before you can understand what i'm trying to tell you.

Recently, researchers in University of Houston have develop the way to create single array of graphene. This success will allows the possibility of more advance electronic equipments, especially the computer chip. I think most of you know that computer chips are made from silicon, which according to many researchers, have many flaws especially in terms of speed and its bulk size. Graphene, a material introduced 7 years ago has come to save us from these two flaws so that we can come out with a more high speed computer which can be used to solve lots of mathematical problems.

Back to Houston, the success of the researchers will be featured in June issue of Nature Materials. In one of the famous site about graphene (click here), it stated how the array of graphene is produced. The method, as i quote from the site, is like this:

"The idea is to initiate graphite 'seeds' - hexagonal single crystals, and then grow them on top of a copper foil inside a chamber containing methane gas using a process called chemical vapor deposition. This method can be used to grow an ordered array of thousands or millions of single crystals of graphene."

Qingkai Yu, the lead author of this research said that although the idea is there, there is still a long way to go in order to create graphene-base electronic equipments. Right now, many studies have been done in order to study the impact of graphene in electronic industry and it is without a doubt can raise our level of civilization one step higher. As for the researchers, good luck in your research and i can't wait to hear the good news from you guys.
